Zion Evangelical Church
Waldron United Methodist Church

On June 9, 1995 fire in the elevator of the Waldron United Methodist Church caused $20,000 in damage. An electrical fixture inside the elevator car had malfunctioned, causing the fire. Parts of the church had smoke, heat, and water damage. (Addison Times)Several months later, a gas explosion heavily damaged the church again. The Waldron Baptist Church invited the Methodist Church to share their building until a new church could be procured. The church purchased the former Key Bank (previously known as The State Bank of Waldron), built a sanctuary, and remodeled the existing building. The church is now Waldron Church of the Risen Savior.
